Manifesto for Bang! Fund
The money donated by the writers of the first edition of Bang! is to be used:
- For publication of a collection of short stories.
- Stories in the collection must be written for an English 134 Creative Writing class.
- All students whose works are published in the collection must have taken or currently be enrolled in an English 134 Creative Writing class.
- All students whose works are published in the collection must contribute time and effort to the publication, promotion, organization, administration, or editing of the collection.
- Matching funds must be obtained from another source for the collection. (Some possible sources are ASUCLA minigrants, and English Department matching funds.)
- The title of the collection must be Bang! New Fiction (Year). If more than one collection is published in a year, then the Quarter name can be included as follows: "Bang! New Fiction Fall 1998"
- All proceeds, net expenses, raised by the sale of the collection are to be returned to the Bang! Fund for future collections.
The collection must be titled "Bang! Short Fiction" and dated. Example: "Bang! Short Fiction 2000". In the event that more than one issue is published in a year, the quarter may be added, as, "Bang! Short Fiction Winter 1998".
The front cover must use the original "Bang!" logo, in the same size as the original. The artwork is held in the English office.
Funds are to be disbursed through the English Department office, per their procedures.
