Profiles of UCLA Foreign Language Educators

Georgiana Galateanu-Farnoaga

Georgiana Galateanu-Farnoaga is a Lecturer of Romanian language and literature in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She has a PhD (1984) in Foreign Languages Pedagogy from the University of Bucharest, Romania. Dr. Galateanu-Farnoaga was a Fullbright scholar in UCLA's Slavic Department (1990-92) and in the Department of TESL and Applied Linguistics (1992-93), and has been Faculty in Residence at UCLA since 1991. In addition to having written articles on foreign language teaching, she is the author of a number of textbooks of Romanian and of ESL and is presently completing 'A Passport to Romania: A Course in Romanian Language and Life,' of which she is co-author. She is also the co-translator and co-editor of several collections of Romanian literature.
