WHO IS WHO in Foreign Languages Olga Kagan Olga Kagan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, where she also coordinates the Russian Language program and is the Teaching Assistant supervisor. Dr. Kagan has a PhD (1997) from the Pushkin Russian Language Institute in Moscow, is co-author of a second-year Russian language textbook, V puti (On Your Way), a book on teaching methodology, Ucimsja ucit' (We are Learning to Teach), a forthcoming textbook for heritage speakers of Russian, Russkij dlja russkix (Russian for Russians), and of a forthcoming reader, Lidiya Chukhovskaya's Sophia Petrovna. She is also co-editor of a forthcoming volume of articles on teaching Slavic languages, The Learning and Teaching of Slavic Languages and Cultures. Dr. Kagan is Chair of the UCLA Foreign Language Resource Committee. Her research interests include second language acquisition, teacher preparation and heritage language pedagogy. e-mail: okagan@humnet.ucla.edu Susan Kresin Susan Kresin is a Lecturer of Russian and Czech in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She has a PhD (1994) from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Kresin is the co-author of a first-year Czech language textbook, Ceština hrou.
