It was thanks to the generous support of the Vincenzo Romagnoli Group (Milan and Rome, Italy) that this research project could be undertaken at Horace's Villa. When support had to be ended in November, 1999, owing to the death of Commendatore Vincenzo Romagnoli, the Steinmetz Family of Los Angeles and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation (New York City) saved the day by stepping in to keep the project funded in 2000 and 2001. The Creative Kids Education Foundation (Los Angeles) contributed funds for the creation of a documentary video and this Web site. In 1997 and 1998, Alitalia provided free transportation for project members flying between Los Angeles and Rome. The project represents an institutional collaboration between the American Academy in Rome, UCLA's Institute of Social Science Research, and the Archaeological Superintendency of Lazio. All funds raised were contributed to and administered by the American Academy in Rome or UCLA. We are very grateful to our financial and institutional sponsors for their crucial support of The Horace's Villa Project!
