An axonometric reconstruction commissioned in 1993 by the Archaeological Superintendency for Lazio follows, and beside it is the Superintendency's 1993 plan of the villa in the Horatian period. A drawing like the axonometric can help you to visualize the original appearance of the building. But remember that though based on the best information available at the time, the axonometric is speculative. For example, we don't yet know the plant materials and design of the garden, which has been only partially excavated. In 1993, the phase of the building shown in the axonometric was thought to be Horatian; now we would date it to a later phase.
