HAUSAR BAKA was produced with the support of a grant from the US Department of Education, Richard Randell (Stanford, University) Principal Investigator. The video footage was shot in Kano and other parts of northern Nigeria during the summer of 1996. Editing and transcribing were done from late 1996 to early 1998 at the World of Languages Studio, Windsor, California, with final editing and production of the video masters being done in January 1998 at the East Bay Media Center, Berkeley, California.
