UCLA Medievalist



The UCLA Department of Art History invites applications for a tenure-track position (assistant professor) in Medieval Art, particularly of the Romanesque and Gothic periods. A broad perspective on Western Medieval Art in relation to that of other cultures is desirable. Candidates whose work investigates Medieval Art through varying theoretical perspectives and/or whose work challenges the canon of Western Medieval Art and Architecture are particularly welcome. Applicants should demonstrate command of appropriate research languages, primary materials, and historiographic traditions. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in a diverse intellectual environment.
