Professor Lattimore's teaching assignments reflected his research interests in Greek literature, history, and material culture. His courses covered literature, art and iconography, and Greek and Roman athletics. He has published a translation of Thucydides, The Marine Thiasos in Greek Sculpture, and Marble Sculpture from Isthmia, as well as articles dealing with Greek literature and with Greek and Roman sculpture.
