COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 

Thirty-six units of graduate coursework are required for the Classics M.A.

1. Classics 287 (4 units taken over the first 2 years)
2. Greek or Latin 210 (prose composition)
3. 4 courses from Greek 200A-200B-200C/Latin 200A-200B-200C.
4. 3 four-unit seminars (2 unit seminars shall not be combined to meet this requirement)

Students who present the following may apply for a Greek M.A.:

1. Classics 287
2. Greek 210 (prose composition)
3. Greek 200A-200B-200C

Students who present the following may apply for a Latin M.A.:

1. Classics 287
2. Latin 210 (prose composition)
3. Latin 200A-200B-200C

The four-unit 200ABC survey courses prepare for and test the appropriate parts of the departmental reading lists. The remaining courses are selected in consultation with the Graduate Advisor.
