GIVING TO CLASSICS
The future of the Classics – indeed, the future of the past – lies in the upcoming generations of young minds eager to explore the literature and culture of Greece and Rome, and in the generosity of all those who will make their endeavors possible.
The Department is very grateful for the exceptional generosity of its many donors. The Steinmetz Family Foundation endowed the Chair in Material Culture currently in the Department of Classics. The Livingston and Weintraub endowments support graduate students. And, most recently, the late Joan Palevsky gave an extraordinary gift to the Department that will fund a named chair in the Classics as well as an endowment for graduate student support.
We face a series of challenges in the coming years, particularly in terms of financial support for our graduate students and special projects of the Department, and we continue to rely on the support and assistance of benefactors to the Classics.
Gifts from alumni and friends of UCLA are crucial to the Department of Classics retaining its exceptionally high standing and enhancing its excellence in the new century. We are very grateful for your support of our many programs. Please click here for our secure giving website.
