This page describes several computing facilities available on campus. These are the labs most accessible to Humanities students and faculty. See each lab's website for complete information on location, hours, software, and equipment availability.
Instructor-Only Labs
ITC Labs - Public Policy 1040 and 1041
- CDH Instructional Technology Consultants hold appointments and drop-in hours in these labs. Instructors may also make reservations to use the scanning station or media station, or to use software they don't have available at their home or office. Website: www.humnet.ucla.edu/itc
TEC @ OID - Powell Library 160
- The Teaching Enhancement Center, a unit of the Office of Instructional Development, assists faculty in developing instructional multimedia presentations by providing equipment, software, and training from experienced consultants. Like the ITC Lab, they have scanners, media stations, and software available by reservation. Website: www.oid.ucla.edu/tec
Student-Instructor Labs and Electronic Classrooms
CDH Labs - LuValle Commons B01 (lower level)
- Center for Digital Humanities Computer Labs are open to all UCLA students during drop-in hours, but instructors can also reserve time for occasional or regular class meetings. Priority goes to Humanities instructors and students. Website: www.cdh.ucla.edu/labs
CLICC Labs - Powell Library 145 (and other locations)
- College Library Instructional Computing Commons offers a drop-in computer lab, three electronic classrooms, two mobile "classrooms on wheels", and lends laptops from 6 different libraries on campus. These labs are open to UCLA students, faculty, and staff. Website: www.clicc.ucla.edu
SSC Labs - Public Policy 2041 (and other locations)
- Social Sciences Computing Labs give priority to Social Science students and instructors, but other UCLA constituents may use them. In addition to workstations, they have a PDF Sender which will scan a document, save it as PDF, and email it to a designated address. Website: computing.sscnet.ucla.edu
