More and more instructors find themselves creating webpages as they seek to make materials available to students over the web. This section covers the basics of web-authoring:
HTML Basics: This section includes HTML tutorials, tag lists, color and background information, and codes for special characters and entities.
Images for the Web: Basic information about image software, file types, and image attributes in HTML. For image editing, see also Basic Image Editing with Photoshop.
Web Compatible Files: Web browsers can handle HTML files and web compatible file types. Other file types may be delivered over the internet (i.e. linked to or downloaded) but require additional software to use. This section gives an overview of file types for text, images, audio, and video and specifies the recommended "web ready" formats. The materials posted on class websites should be in "web ready" formats whenever possible, so that students can easily access them.

Styles Guides and Accessibility: When designing web pages, instructors should keep in mind style and usability issues for the general student population as well as students with special learning needs. This section contains links to information about general style issues and making web pages accessible to students with disabilities.
HTML Editors: Overview of free and commercial HTML/web editors.
Dreamweaver HTML Editor : A brief introduction to Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX 2004 web design software. This section covers the Dreamweaver workspace, creating and saving a webpage, managing a site, uploading/downloading files with Dreamweaver, and using templates.
Web Publishing Tools: This web page provides an overview of various kinds of web publishing tools, such as blogs, wikis, podcasting, image tools and Apple's new iWeb.
WordPress Blogs: This web page provides basic help on setting up and using a WordPress blog.
