This image is from a project called "Fearless," about which Sheng writes the following: "For almost the last two years I have been working on a photography project featuring openly gay, lesbian, and bisexual identified athletes on high school and collegiate sports teams across the country. In thinking about the intersections between athleticism, sexuality and identity, I have made formal portraits of these athletes immediately after they have completed a very strenuous workout of practice. My aim is to eventually publish a book featuring about fifty individuals. Currently I am also working on a non-profit exhibition tour of these photographs at various schools in the United States, titled FearlessCampusTour.org."
