The Student Affairs Officer (SAO) for the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures is Jay True. Jay is responsible for academic counseling of graduate and undergraduate students, coordinating graduate admissions, and processing graduate student support awards. She provides course information to students, schedules rooms for departmental course meetings, and coordinates photocopying accounts, places book orders and coordinates annual schedule of classes. She is responsible for collecting and processing of instructor evaluations. Jay oversees the request of electronic mail accounts for graduate students and is responsible for the hiring and supervision of work-study students inclusive of the Front Office and Departmental Library. She also provides administrative support for the Chair of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and the faculty.
