The Student Affairs Officer for the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures is Valerie Breashears.  Ms. Breashears provides administrative support for the Chair of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and the faculty. She provides course information to students, schedules rooms for departmental course meetings, and coordinates photocopying accounts, places book orders and coordinates annual schedule of classes. Ms. Breashears is responsible for collecting and processing of instructor evaluations, as well as coordinating parking for faculty, staff, and teaching assistants. She is also responsible for academic counseling of graduate and undergraduate students, coordinating graduate admissions, and processing graduate student support awards. Ms. Breashears also oversees the request of electronic mail accounts for graduate students and is responsible for the hiring and supervision of work-study students inclusive of the Front Office and Departmental Library.
