UCLA PHILOSOPHY DEPARTMENT -- PLACEMENT

The Department of Philosophy supports students seeking professional positions through the services of its Placement Committee. The Committee arranges and supervises mock interviews, arranges a practice talk to its colloquium, and oversees the preparation and assembly of students’ dossiers.  Placement Committee members travel to the meetings of the American Philosophical Association to provide support and advice for candidates being interviewed.  Almost all of the students seeking placement in recent years have succeeded in finding academic positions.

The following is the academic placement record of UCLA Philosophy Ph.D students since 1995.  All positions are tenure track unless otherwise noted.
