The Scandinavian Section

Language Instruction

The Section currently offers instruction in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Sami and Old Norse/Icelandic. Currently, Danish and Finnish are available through an innovative program in conjunction with the Scandinavian Department at UC Berkeley. In these classes, students enroll in Berkeley classes, and attend class via an Internet 2.0 highspeed video-conferencing connection.

In addition, all of our upper division courses can be supplemented with a 2-unit "FL" course. Courses taken outside of the Section’s offerings can be augmented with Scandinavian 198FL in consultation with Section faculty.
