Minor in Russian Studies
Preparation includes a year of language study of the equivalent (Russian 3 or 13B or 15B or 10) and a choice of two courses from the following:
- Russian 25W: Russian Novel in Translation
- Russian 30: Russian Literature and World Cinema
- Russian 90A: Introduction to Russian Civilization
- or Russian 90B: Russian Civilization in the Twentieth Century
- or Russian 90BW: Russian Civilization in the Twentieth Century with satisfaction of Letters and Science Writing II requirement
or
- Second year of language study of the equivalent ( Russian 4, 5, 6 or 20 ).
Five upper-division couses dealing directly with Russia, drawn from:
- All upper-division Russian language and literature courses
- History 127-A-D
- Economics 182: Centralized Economics Systems
- Geography 184: Russia
- Political Science 128A: U.S./Soviet Relations
- Political Science 128B: International Relations of Post-Communist Russia
- Political Science 156A: Government and Politics of Post-Communist States
- Russian CM170: Russian Folklore
- Russian 122 Siberia
