English-Composition Courses Required by Majors and Minors

Many of Writing Programs courses fulfill the requirements of departmental majors and minors. See below for a partial listing of majors and minors requiring Writing Programs' courses. All inquiries about such major/minor Eng-Comp requirements should be made to an academic advisor in the counseling office of the major/minor’s academic department as noted below.

Economics
Economics Advising, 2263 Bunche Hall, 310-825-5118
Either English Composition 100W or English Composition 129B fulfills the writing requirement for the Economics major. Please note that English 131B does not satisfy the requirement.

Sociology
Sociology Advising, 254E Haines Hall, 310-825-1215
Students may take any upper division English Composition class to fulfill the Sociology major's writing requirement. The classes include: English Composition 100W, English Composition 110, English Composition 129A-D, English Composition 130A-D, English Composition 131A-D, and English Composition 132A-D.
