This website was designed for a UCLA Instructional Technology Forum series presentation. This Brown Bag focused on image software that is helpful for faculty who want to scan, archive, and post online images and descriptions.

When testing different image software programs, we had two major concerns in mind:

  1. In archiving images, what is the best way to save them and their respective descriptions?

  2. What is the best method to put up large amounts of images as a photo gallery WITH descriptions?

At this website, you can find information about DIGITAL LIBRARIES and the software they are using. We organized tested softwares under MAC or PC. You can find our photo gallery samples if you click on PHOTO GALLERY. While creating these html pages we prioritized softwares that process xmp, exif or itpc information. If you want to know more about the basic terminology and how information is stored with images themselves, please click on TERMINOLOGY. Due to time constraints we couldn't prepare reviews for each software that is listed here. You can help us by sending your comments from our REVIEWS page.
