Burning your iDVD project onto a DVD
- Preview your project before burning it on to a DVD. Click on the Preview button [Fig. 19]. Navigate the menu using the remote control or mouse and check the following:
- Click on "Play Movie" to see if it plays the entire clip.
- Click on "Scene Selection" to see if the theme you selected is applied. If not, exit the preview mode while you are on the Scene Selection menu by clicking the Preview button [Fig. 19] once again. Select the correct theme. Again, go to Preview and make sure that the theme you selected is applied both to the main menu and scene selection menu.
- Click on each clip in the scene selection nemu to see if chapter markers are imported correctly.
- When you finish previewing the project, click on the Preview button [Fig. 19] again to exit.
- Before burning your DVD, be sure you have at least twice as much free space available on your hard disk as your project uses to allow for encoding and burning. Check the DVD Capacity meter in the Status pane of the Customize drawer to determine the size of your project [Fig. 20].
Encoding and burning DVDs use a lot of processing power. Do not use other applications that place heavy demands on the system while you are encoding and burning a disc.
- Click the Burn button [Fig. 19]. When prompted, insert a recordable DVD disk into the drive (DVD-R is the disk format for burning a DVD on Macs in the ITC lab.)
