Saving your clip as a QuickTime movie

  1. Choose File > Share.
  2. Click QuickTime and choose a movie format from the pop-up menu [Fig. 7].

    Email
    Best for sending over email. The recipient needs QuickTime 4 or later to see a movie in this format. (10fps; 160x120; mono sound)
     
    Web
    Best for a downloadable video on the web. The viewer needs QuickTime 3 or later. (12fps; 240x180; mid-quality stereo sound)
     
    Web Streaming
    Best for playing a large video file without the need to download the entire resource file in advance. (12fps; 240x180; mid-quality stereo sound)
     
    CD-ROM
    Best for playback from CD-ROM drives. (15fps; 320x240; full-quality stereo sound)
     
    Full Quality
    Creates a movie with original quality, preserving the most data possible. Use for movies you want to import to other applications, such as iDVD, DVD Studio Pro, or Final Cut Pro, for further editing.
     
    Expert Settings
    Use when you want to customize your export or use other formats and codecs.

  3. Check the "Share selected clips only" checkbox [Fig. 7] if you only want to save clips you selected (highlighted).
  4. Click Share.
  5. Name your movie, select a location for the file, and click Save.
