1. How can I set up the voice email?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click Voice Email on My Manager.

  3. Click New.

  4. Enter a name and description.
  5. Click Create.

  6. Click on the name of the voice email you just created.
  7. Click Public access and make sure that the Public access checkbox is checked. If not check it and click Apply.
  8. Click Publish.
  9. Copy the URL (Ctrl+A ->Ctrl+C on Windows; Command+A ->Command+C on the Mac).
  10. Login to your ecampus course web site.
  11. Add a link to your voice email.

2. How can I hide the fields I don’t want to use (e.g. BCC)?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click Voice Email on My Manager.

  3. Click on the name of the voice email you want to modify.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Check the Hide field checkbox for the fields you don't want to use.
  6. Click Apply.

3. How can I pre-type my email address in the TO field so that my students can’t send an email to somebody else?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click Voice Email on My Manager.

  3. Click on the name of the voice email you want to modify.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Type your email address in the To field.
  6. Check the Disable field check box.
  7. Click Apply.

4. How can I display a reply link in a sent mail so that a voice message can be recorded in replies?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click Voice Email on My Manager.

  3. Click on the name of the voice email you want to modify.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Check "Display reply links in sent Voice Email.
  6. Click Apply.

5. How can I change the audio quality and the maximum duration of recording?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click Voice Email on My Manager.

  3. Click on the name of the voice email you want to modify.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Choose an appropriate audio quality and maximum audio message length for your purpose.
  6. Click Apply.

6. How can I restrict access to my voice email?
    Your voice email is set for Public Access (under Basic Rights) by default. It is strongly recommended not to uncheck this option. To make your voice email available only to your students, we recommend that you add a link to your voice email on your ecampus course site.

7. How can I archive my students’ email communication?
  1. Communication using your voice email is automatically archived.
  2. To access archives, login to Wimba.
  3. Click Voice Email on My Manager.

  4. Click on the name of the voice email you want to view archives of.
  5. Go to Archives.
  6. Click here.

  7. If you want to download voice messages, click Export.

8. How can I give my TAs access to archives?
  1. To give your TAs the Admin privilege, they have to have Wimba accounts. Please request your ITC to create Wimba accounts for your TAs.
  2. Login to Wimba.
  3. Click on the title of the voice board to which you want to add your TAs as Admin users.
  4. Go to Privileged Users and type in a TA's wimba account and check the Read, Post, and Admin privileges. When Notified is checked, users will receive email notification when the voice board is modified.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Repeat this process for as many TAs as you have.
