1. How do I create a voice dialog (open-ended) question?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click on the Oral Assessments tab.
  3. Choose Create Question > Voice dialog.

  5. Fill in the Name and Title fields. The name is a unique identifier of this assessment within the Wimba Manager (for you to see), and the title is what your students see.

  7. To insert an image, click Choose File and locate the image you wish to use on your hard drive. Click Choose. The image will come up on the screen. Adjust the size of the image so that it is easy to see/read. If nothing is filled in, the original size is set.

  9. Description is the instructions that your students see.
  10. There are two ways to insert a voice prompt: A) You can record your speech directly on this screen. Click record to begin recording and stop to stop. Click play to listen to the recording; or B) You can upload a pre-recorded audio file. For more information on audio formats, please click Help on the right upper corner of the screen. Click Choose File and locate the audio file you wish to use on your hard drive.

2. How do I create a multiple choice question?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click on the Oral Assessments tab.
  3. Choose Create Question > MCQ.

  5. Fill in the Name and Title fields. The name is a unique identifier of this assessment within the Wimba Manager (for you to see), and the title is what your students see.

  7. To insert an image, click Choose File and locate the image you wish to use on your hard drive. Click Choose. The image will come up on the screen. Adjust the size of the image so that it is easy to see/read. If nothing is filled in, the original size is set.

  12. Click New Question to create a question. Type in a question and answer choices. Click the radio button next to the correct answer. Repeat this process for as many questions as you want. You can change the order of questions by using the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

3. How do I create a fill-in-the-blank question?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click on the Oral Assessments tab.
  3. Choose Create Question > Fill in the blank.

  12. Click New Sentence to create a question. Type the first part, blank, and last part (if any) of the sentence. Repeat this process for as many sentences as you want. You can change the order of sentences by using the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

  3. Choose Create Question > Pairing.

5. How do I create a vocal multiple choice question?
  1. Login to Wimba.

  3. Choose Create Question > Vocal MCQ.

6. How do I edit the question I created?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click on the Oral Assessments tab.
  3. Choose Manage Questions.

  5. Click the pencil icon (under Edit) of the desired question.

  7. Do not forget to click Save after you modify your question.

7. How do I export my questions to another account?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click on the Oral Assessments tab.
  3. Choose Manage Questions.

  5. Click on the Export icon next to the question you would like to export. The question will be stored as a zip file and downloaded onto your computer.

8. How do I import questions from another account into my account?
  1. Login to Wimba.
  2. Click on the Oral Assessments tab.
  3. Choose Manage Questions.

  5. Click Choose File on the bottom of the screen and choose the zip file that you want to import.
