He is the author of a forthcoming book from the University of Chicago Press, entitled The Manly Eunuch: Masculinity, Gender Ambiguity, and Christian Ideology in Late Antiquity, a revised version of his 1995 Doctoral Dissertation from Yale University. His research interests are in gender and sexuality in Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages.
