Ben
and Rue Pine are among UCLA's most active and prominent supporters,
with wide-ranging interests from athletics to Spanish. Both UCLA
alumni, the Pines are involved with more than a dozen support groups
at the university, and they are always a warm and welcome presence
at the many campus events they attend. In their extensive travels
over the years, the Pines have developed a special love of Spanish
culture, and they have endowed a fund that will enable students
and faculty to follow in their footsteps. The Ben and Rue Pine Travel
Award in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese provides for research
and conference travel.
